This was by far one of the coolest experiences I've ever had. It was incredible to take a rugged block of wood and be able to shape it, carve it, and refine it into a beautiful bowl! As an artist, I loved having the ability to be creative and make a unique object that would not only have a purpose but a story too. Van was super helpful when it came to teaching me the tricks of this trade. He was patient with me and my learning curve, allowing for me to screw up and learn from my mistakes, but also intentionally stopping and teaching me things along the way so that I wouldn't make the same mistakes. I would recommend this experience to anyone! I myself hope to make it back into the shop someday to create something else.
